Mix for Dutch Donuts and Apple Fritters

Homemade is a well known brand in the Netherlands and available from all major supermarkets there. Their power is simplicity, JUST ADD WATER

What you will need for Dutch Donuts

1 bag complete mix for Oliebollen (400g)

  • 400 ml lukewarm water 37 ° C
  • Optional 200 g currants and / or raisins
  • Deep fat fryer or deep frying pan with oil

Oil temperature for frying approx. 190 ° C

Preparation time 30-45 minutes

Frying time approx. 4 minutes

Method: Mix the Oliebollen mix with the lukewarm water in a mixing bowl with a whisk or mixer with dough hooks until you have a lump-free batter. Add optional currants and / or raisins and mix evenly though the batter.

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or a damp cloth and leave the batter to rise in a warm place for 30-45 minutes. Tip: After letting the batter mixture rise stir the batter gently to prevent aerating the batter which can cause oliebollen to absorb more oil.

Using a slightly damp ice-cream scoop make a ball of batter and then gently slide the ball into the hot oil. Fry the Oliebol for about 4 minutes or until golden brown and let them drain on kitchen paper.

Important: the oil must be at the right temperature if to cold the oliebollen will absorb more oil. 

 

What you will need for Apple Fritters

1/2 bag complete mix for Oliebollen (200g)

  • 300 ml cold milk
  • 5 apples
  • 30 g sugar
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • Deep fat fryer or deep frying pan with oil

Oil temperature for frying approx. 190 ° C

Peel the apples, remove the core and cut the apples into thick discs/slices (approx. 5 discs from 1 apple).

Mix the sugar and cinnamon together and sprinkle the apple slices on both sides.

Mix the Oliebollen mix with the cold milk in a mixing bowl with a whisk or mixer with dough hooks until you have a lump-free batter.

Do not let the batter rise. Cover the apple slices one by one in the batter and fry until golden brown. Let the Apple fritters drain on kitchen paper.

 

Ingredienten:

tarwebloem [gluten], gemodiceerd maïszetmeel, weipoeder [melk], suiker, zout, gedroogde bakkersgist.

Kan sporen van ei bevatten.

Ingredients:

wheat flour [gluten], modified corn starch, whey powder [milk], sugar, salt, dried baker’s yeast.

May contain traces of egg.
