Amsterdam Croquette by Melt On the Goldcoast
For the ragout of this iconic croquette we use small cubes of the finest beef. These cubes are slow-cooked for several hours in a strong broth, brought to flavour with fresh vegetables, herbs and spices.
This handmade croquette is the perfect combination of a creamy ragout, finished with a crunchy coating.
Fun fact: There are two types of croquettes in the Netherlands.
This one originates from the northern part of the country.
Our croquettes can be served in several ways. For lunch we recommend serving them on a slice of buttered bread, topped with mustard and for dinner we suggest combining them with crispy beer-battered chips and a fresh mixed salad. Of course you can also have the croquette as a snack, e.g. with mustard on the side.
Remove the frozen croquettes from the package and deep fry at 180 degrees for 7 minutes. Thawed croquettes only need to be deep fried for 4 to 5 minutes at 180 degrees. Croquettes can not be refrozen once thawed. Do not deep-fry more than 4 Croquettes at a time as the
oil temperature will drop too much.
Be careful: let them cool down for a minute after deep-frying, the filling can be very hot!
